Official Music Video For Debut Single, "You're Like."

Five days ago, independent pop artist Leshai released her first single, "You're Like" from her soon-to-be-released album, "Devil's Kiss." Leshai describes the song as a "not-so-average" love song. The song contains a unique blend of drums, fingersnaps, and cymbals. The single has been receiving many positive reviews from independent music lovers and artists alike. Leshai Releases Debut Single

Up-and-coming pop artist Leshai has finally released her first single to independent music fans everywhere. Leshai's first single made its debut to the web on August 14, 2010 on ReverbNation.com and Ourstage.com. Leshai's debut single "You're Like" is a "not-so-average" love song that combines elements of both pop and R&B.  "You're Like" can best be described as an upbeat love song with a unique combination of drums, fingersnaps, and cymbals. The song takes everyday love songs to a whole new height.


"You're Like" has been receiving much attention on ReverbNation.com, a music profile site that allows independent artists to upload their own music and videos. In only 3 days, the single has already entered the Top 20 on the ReverbNation Pop Charts coming in at No. 19. Leshai has also received nine new fans thanks to the success of the single.  An independent music video is also in the works for the single.

Rumor Has It....Leshai covers Adele

For those of you who are living under a rock, Adele is America's new outstanding new talent. Adele's hit "Rolling in the Deep", from her second album, 21, is a soulful pop hit that has created much buzz on the internet. On Youtube alone, "Rolling in the Deep" has been covered my millions all across the world. Due to Adele's intense vocal talent, covering any of her music is grounds for self-humiliation for even the best of singers. However, Leshai decided to do the unthinkable and cover Adele's "Rolling in the Deep." While Leshai's rendition of the song is placed on the long list of "Adele covers", Leshai captures the song in such a way that the song becomes less and less of a cover with each note. Released on Youtube July 31, Leshai's cover of "Rolling in the Deep." has already received 14 views. This video is a must see!

Who Is Leshai Anyway?

Trying to make a name for yourself in the music business is not easy. In fact, it takes twice, if not three times, as much effort, to create a name than it takes to actually keep the benefits that comes along with it. Many starving musicians out there know exactly what I am talking about. Most music fans flock to the more "established" artists who have already created a name fpr themselves in the music industry. What about the little guys and gals trying to crawl their way up to the top? Many of them go unnoticed and never get the chance to showcase their talent to the world.

While some unsigned artists go unnoticed by music fanatics, some unsigned artists do manage to have their music heard and appreciated by thousands, if not millions, of fans. The reason? True talent is just something that can't be silenced or ignored. While talent is something that all "artists" have, talent is not something that all artists get to display to the music world.


Leshai is one of the talented artists whose talent is too bright not to be noticed. Leshai is a 15-year old aspiring singer from Peoria,IL. She also happens to be my little sister. When I first began promoting Leshai on Facebook, one of my Facebook friends asked me, "who is Leshai anyways?" Who is Leshai? Okay. Now you finally get the answer.

Leshai is a singer, songwriter, and dancer from Peoria,IL. At only 15, Leshai is already an accomplished musician that is ready to make her mark on the entertainment world. Leshai’s career began at the tender age of four. At the age of four, Leshai began imitating the musical styles of music icons such as Britney Spears, Beyonce, and Michael Jackson. At age nine, Leshai began writing lyrics and arranging melodies to her own songs. Leshai began perfecting her vocal talent by singing in school pageants and the church choir. After receiving much praise and encouragement from her family and peers, Leshai decided that a career in music was becoming less and less of a hobby and more of a deep rooted passion. After several years of dedication and hard work, Leshai decided to expand on her musical talent by exposing her talent on the web. In March of 2011, Leshai debuted on YouTube covering Brooke Hogan’s “Everything to Me.” In only a few weeks, the video received much acclaim and received a total of 71 views. Two months later, Leshai released her second video. This time, Leshai upped the ante by covering Britney Spears’, “Baby One More Time.” Leshai saw much success with this video and received a total of 82 views. While Leshai’s talent may consist of strong vocal range and intense writing skills, Leshai’s talent can also be seen through her dancing. On June 8, 2011, Leshai released her first dance video on the web. Leshai cheoreographed her own unique dance steps to Beyonce’s “Get Me Bodied.” In one week, Leshai’s dance video received 124 views and earned her seven YouTube subscriptions. Leshai’s talent and overall popularity has not only aided to her becoming successful on YouTube, but on other sites as well. On lafango.com, a website based in India that hosts online talent, Leshai has earned over 1,000 page views, and a collection of new fans. In such a short period of time, Leshai has earned much success both domestically and internationally. As an accomplished singer, songwriter, and dancer, Leshai’s talent is definitely one of a kind.
